The San Jose facility is run by Eric Stieg, Director of the Christian Academy of Martial Arts. His background includes over 20 years in the martial arts, including a black belt in Tae Kwon Do (art of the hand and foot) and traditional Hapkido (art of coordinated power). He also overseas the west coast for the Shinsei Hapkido Federation, and was recently inducted into the Hall of Fame by the IIMAA for "Instructor of the year - 2009."
Mr. Stieg's vision is to grow the ministry throughout Northern California by training the next generation of Christian martial arts instructors. The CAMA is continuing to grow outside of California, and is currently working with a few schools both inside and outside of California to become charter members. Mr. Stieg believes the future of this ministry lay with the current students willingness to carry it forward. His top priority is helping the students understand the Fruit of the Spirit, understanding the definition of Christ's meekness, and being a servant leader.
Mr John Schroeder - a first degree black belt in Kenju Ryu Jui-Jitsu, Mr. Schroeder recently earned his second degree black belt in Shinsei Hapkido, and is the Assistant Instructor for the San Jose dojo. John is an avid martial artist and family man and wonderful example of a servant leader.
Pastor Dennis Woodsmall - A senior pastor in the local community, Pastor Woodsmall is a dedicated martial artist. He is known for his phrase during classes, "Pain is weakness leaving the body." Although we certainly don't condone pain in our classes, Mr. Woodsmall brings a unique scriptural understanding to our lesson and class structure. A first degree in Tae Kwon Do, Dennis is a member of Ernie Reyes' West Coast Martial Arts Studios.
