in Crazy things kids say/do
Tonight, I was planning on having kids do a "push/pull" game called land mine. Basically, they grab ahold of each other, as if to do a judo entry, and attempt to unbalance their partner and make them step on one of the 5-6 "land mines." Having a good, sturdy foundation and "rooted" stance/feet are key to being successful.
While trying to explain the game to my son in the car (he hadn't played it yet) he said..... "that doesn't makes sense. I want to start on one foot instead of having both feet on the ground - that way I have only 1/2 a chance of stepping on the land mine." Good point, but it'd be tough to keep your balance and rooted stance.
At the end of the night, he ended up winning against his partner - way to go!
